Appointment Attribution Settings

Overview

1. Appointment Attribution

This approach traces back to the first time when a user interacted with your ad, attributing installs to the pre-launch click data via device ID matching. Afterwards, this attribution information is combined with the results from self-attributing channels to perform a unified First Click analysis.

2. Touchpoints for Appointment Attribution

Currently the app market does not support real-time postbacks of app appointment information to external parties (third parties, advertisers). As a result, SolarEngine can only consider the advertising touchpoint closest to the app appointment button click as the attribution results.

3. First Click Attribution

It is possible that users can still interact with your ads after clicking your app appointment button, so in this scenario, the traditional "last click" attribution model will be inaccurate anymore. While the app store's appointment button can only be clicked once, we can say that the first ad interaction should take more credit on the conversion path. Plus, there is a higher correlation between ad click and appointment button click. Hence, the "first click" attribution model is more suitable for app appointment tracking.

4. Current Timezone

The timezone will affect the logic of storing appointment touchpoint data, and it cannot be modified once confirmed, so please fill it in carefully. By default, we'll read the timezone of the current product.

5. Launch Time

When Appointment Attribution is enabled, the appointment touchpoints data received within 90 days before the launch date (or on the same day) will participate in Appointment Attribution matching.

If Appointment Attribution is disabled, or the appointment touchpoints data is received on or after the launch date, then regular attribution matching will apply. Please enter the launch time with caution. It will be locked 24 hours before the scheduled launch time, during which no changes can be made.

6. Attribution Priority

Once the app is launched, advertisers can proceed with regular ad promotions. Therefore, during the validity period of appointment attribution, it is necessary to determine the attribution priority when both appointment clicks and regular clicks exist. You can choose between prioritizing appointment attribution or regular attribution based on your needs.

7. Appointment Attribution Validity Window

Once the app is launched, users with appointment will automatically download the app, and most of them will first open (activate) the app within a few days after install. The appointment attribution validity window specifies the period of time in which a new install can be attributed to an app appointment, while installs out of the time window cannot qualify for attribution.

8. Enable/Disable

When appointment attribution is enabled, it stores and calculates appointment attribution matching based on time zone and the app's launch time. Once disabled, installs will no longer participate in appointment attribution matching.

SolarEngine - Attribution - App Configuration - Appointment Attribution Settings

Note

  1. To ensure consistent terminology for iOS and Android, the "Appointment" and "Launch Time" in the SolarEngine correspond to the "Pre-order" and "Publish Date" in appstore.
  2. Please complete the configuration of "Attribution Priority" and "Appointment Attribution Settings" at least one day prior to the app's "Launch Time".
  3. SE appointment attribution utilizes a deterministic attribution model and does not participate in probabilistic attribution (IP+User Agent matching).
