Distribution Analysis is used to analyze the distribution of users within groups categorized by an event or event property.
Distribution Analysis can be used to answer the following questions:
Select an event as the indicator. You can choose to calculate its event total or the value of one of its properties. Clicking "Composite Metric" will switch the current single metric setting to composite metric setting.
There are three options for distribution intervals: Default Interval, Discrete Numbers, and Custom Interval.
Default Interval
If there are less than 5 results, the system will take discrete number grouping method. If the result count exceeds 5, the system divides the range between the maximum and minimum values into five equal parts, leading to 5 result groups.
Discrete Numbers
Create as many groups as the number of unique result values.
Custom Interval
Define intervals flexibly according to your requirements. Add intervals manually or add batches automatically after setting steps and step length. You can add up to 50 intervals.
If you are also interested in another metric of users in each interval, you can enable "calculate another metric" and then set a single/composite metric. For example, for users who open the app for 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 times, you also want to know their average in-app ad impression frequency.
In analysis, statistical indicators vary based on the object of analysis.
Statistical Object | Statistical Indicator |
---|---|
Event | Total Count Unique Visitors Average per User |
Event Property (Numerical) | Sum, Maximum, Minimum, Average, Per User, Variance, Standard Deviation, Median, Quantiles(99、95、90、80、75、60、40、30、25、20、10、5), Deduplication |
Event Property (Boolean) | True, False, Null, Non-Null, Deduplication |
Event Property (List/Sequence) | List Deduplication, Element Deduplication |
Event Property (Date/Time) | Deduplication |
Event Property (String) | Deduplication |
Please see Event Analysis—Group Display.
After setting the conditions, click on "Calculate ". Once the calculation is completed, the results will be displayed in the results area below.
SolarEngine provides two charts for data visualization.
Stage Summary provides three metrics: Number of Users, Ratio, and Calculate another metric. You can change the summary method of them.
This chart shows the trend of each interval across different time ranges.
If you set group display previously, the line graph will show only one group at the same time. You can change to another group or "total" for data comparison.
In line graph settings, you can select whether to show "Number of Users" or "Calculate another metric", and you can choose to display values for each line or not.
This chart shows the proportion of users within each interval.
Similarly, if you set group display previously, the stacked chart will show only one group at the same time. You can make changes for data comparison.
In stacked chart settings, you can select whether to show "Number of Users" or "Ratio", and you can choose to display values for each line or not.
