Event Management

Event Management allows you to view events, edit event names, check associated properties, and control the visibility of reported events. Through Event Management, you can perform the following operations:

• View all previously reported preset events, predefined events and custom events.

• Modify the event names displayed in analysis models.

• Check all event properties reported for a specific event.

• Set the visibility of events in analysis models.

Event List

It shows all previously reported events in the current product.

  • The first column shows event identifiers, i.e. "_event_name".
  • The second column shows event names that you customized. After editing it, the modified name will be displayed in the analysis model. If no modifications are made, the event identifier will be displayed instead.
  • Event description can include event triggers or what it represents.
  • The visibility status controls whether the event is shown in the analysis model. You can select either "enable" or "disable".
  • The search bar allows you to enter the event identifier or event name for quick searching of events you want to view.

Associated Properties

Clicking on each event identifier opens a pop-up window containing all of its associated properties.

  • You can view the property ID, property name, property type, and visibility status of each property.
  • Property names are editable. After editing it, the modified name will be displayed in the analysis model. If no modifications are made, the property identifier will be displayed instead.
  • The visibility status controls whether the property is shown in the analysis model. You can select either "enable" or "disable".
  • Note that any modifications made to property names and the visibility status will be synchronized across all events associated with that property. These changes will also be updated in the "Event Property" list.

Create Custom Events

In real business scenario, you might need to create dashboards or A/B tests ahead before the app generates any data. In this case, you can create custom events for dashboards and A/B tests before the event reports any data. But for clarity, please ensure that the custom created event name matches the event name within the application.

Event Sign

  • Limit 40 characters and start with a letter only (either uppercase or lowercase); the remaining characters can include letters, numbers and underscores.
  • If the event identifier already exists in this application, it cannot be created again.
  • If the event already exists in other applications but not in this one, there will be a reminder for you to associate the event to the current application.

Event Name

  • No more than 20 characters.

Description

  • No more than 80 characters.
